With his project “Familiar Facades” Harald Geil has created one of the most important documentaries of contemporary art on the subject of refugees and immigration in Germany.
The highly respected project took place both as a street art on the streets of German cities (the origin of the artist’s work), as well as in collaborations with institutions such as the Goethe Institute in Rotterdam or within the renowned Weimar exhibition “Fluchtpunkte”.
Harald is constantly searching for cross-border experiences in his choice of theme but also in his technique by using different media (from paste ups to performance art). His art is participatory, with actors from real life. It invites the public to become a part of the piece and interact.
In recent years he has presented his work and methodology in numerous exhibitons across the world.
Harald Geil lives and works in Berlin.
